a memo and a letter
This assignment requires TWO documents: a memo and a letter. For the memo, you are a representative of the USA Olympic Committee, and need to select a company that would make an excellent candidate for Olympic sponsorship. Things to know about being an Olympic sponsor: A typical outlay is $75 million, so obviously a big name company is needed. Sponsorship can be either in goods or services.
When you have targeted a potential sponsor, write a memo to Larry Probst who is the Chair of the USA Olympic Committee. Explain in detail why you have selected this company and precisely what will be required from them.
Ask yourself these questions:
What kind of sponsorship is required? Summer or winter Olympics? Are you sponsoring one nation, or the ENTIRE Olympic enterprise?
Then you will become Larry Probst, and write a letter to the CEO or CFO of the targeted company explaining why they have been approached and again, precisely what will be expected from them. A major part of your task here is to PERSUADE the company to become a sponsor, and to part quite willingly with at least $75 million. How? Well, you must convince them of the wonderful, unique privilege this is for any company. Olympic sponsorship is a badge of great honor, afforded to only a very select few in the world.
Probably need at least 5 PAGES, overall, double-spaced.
1.5 pages for a memo
3.5 pages for the letter
Due by Tuesday June 30th.
